The term accrochage is a French word meaning simply “hanging.” The term was introduced to gallery discourse in the 1960s, and, as in the current exhibition, is primarily used when various artists are shown with works from the portfolio of the gallery. Prepared marks a caesura in the development of the gallery program in the two years since its founding, showing the profile the gallery has taken on in that time, and documenting the complex system of references that links the artistic positions represented by the gallery.
